The medical negligence case Barnett v. Johnson et al. arises out of malpractice that led to improper stroke care and permanent disability.

In February 2013, Jennifer Barnett experienced stroke symptoms during a flight. Upon landing, she was transported to Atlanta Medical Center’s emergency room, where she was evaluated by Richisa Salazar. Despite presenting with signs indicative of a stroke, Dr. Salazar allegedly did not adhere to the hospital’s stroke protocol or consult a neurologist. Jennifer subsequently suffered a massive brain stem stroke, resulting in significant permanent disabilities that necessitate daily assistance.
